Qcells to build 12 GW of solar for Microsoft through 2032

Qcells introduced an eight-year strategic alliance with Microsoft that features supplying 12 GW of photo voltaic modules and EPC providers to photo voltaic tasks through which Microsoft is investing. The 2 firms will collaborate to deliver an estimated 1.5 GW of photo voltaic panels a year to tasks Microsoft has contracted by means of 2032.

The photo voltaic modules can be provided by Qcells’ new manufacturing facility in Cartersville, Georgia.

“We’re happy to be part of such a considerable dedication that may speed up the worldwide shift to renewable power options. Qcells is uniquely positioned to ally with Microsoft in the direction of making a clear, sustainable future due to our funding in constructing an American-made photo voltaic provide chain,” mentioned Justin Lee, CEO of Qcells. “We sit up for increasing renewable power frontiers collectively at present and tomorrow.”

“Our expanded settlement with Qcells is designed to drive large-scale home manufacturing of photo voltaic modules important to advancing a resilient U.S. provide chain and clear power economic system,” mentioned Bobby Hollis, Vice President, Vitality, Microsoft. “By long-term agreements like this, we’re signaling Microsoft’s demand and bringing extra renewable power to the grid, quicker.”
